Last Friday was my 18th birthday and my parents surprised me with a trip to New York City to celebrate. We got a great deal and stayed at the Palace Hotel (I had a Serena moment, and lets just say I would not complain if I had to live there). I went to school in the morning, but left early to head into the city. We started the afternoon with blowouts at Drybar. After some birthday primping, we walked around and did some Fifth Avenue window shopping before dinner. We had dinner at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse– SO delicious! After dinner, we headed back to the Palace. It was still early, so we stopped by Rarities lounge in our hotel (sparkling water for my sister & I).

On Saturday, we grabbed bagels & coffee before a big day of birthday shopping. My mom and I went to Zara, Anthropologie, Free People, Topshop, Aritzia and Urban Outfitters. I got some great pieces including this dressthis jumpsuit and a fun fortune cookie necklace (picture below). It was such a wonderful weekend; a surprise trip to NYC was the best birthday gift I could have ever asked for!

Free People has the BEST visual merchandising! I love their store layouts.

IN LOVE with these Anthropologie boots. Not in my price range, so I snapped a pic instead 😉

I am loving my new fortune cookie necklace! Such a fun piece with a special meaning to me.

  1. Thanks! Free People is SO expensive… I wasn't planning on getting anything but ended up purchasing a reasonably priced scarf that I know I'll wear a lot (but it wasn't online anywhere so I couldn't link it in the post!). Thanks for the comment 🙂 XO, Nicole
