This year, we started our night at the Marist reception, where we got an exclusive preview of a Marist graduate’s collection. I was so impressed by the collection itself as well as presentation. If you were following me on snapchat (empirestyles) then you might have seen it. Basically, the models each walked back and forth across the stage one-by-one then created this zig-zag formation at the end. After, they lined up straight across the stage for pictures.
The entire reception was so well done. There was music, food, a photo backdrop and even a goodie bag with a free t-shirt (and who doesn’t love a good free t-shirt?!). It was also so cool to walk around and mingle with current Marist fashion students and learn more about the program as well as prospective students like myself who may end up being my classmates if I get in and decide to go to Marist. Here are some snaps from the reception:
Now onto the real fashion show. I didn’t really know what to expect from the show as Son Jung Wan is a fairly new designer and she hasn’t showed at NYFW many times. I tried doing some research but couldn’t find much. Let me tell you, the collection was beautiful. The show was amazing. I would describe it as masculine shapes with feminine fabrics and colors. #sorrynotsorry for the picture overload that is about to happen. I just couldn’t choose a favorite look, so here are some of the best pictures I snapped during the show:
Once again, I want to thank Marist and Son Jung Wan for putting together such an unforgettable night! I am so thankful for this opportunity and it was no question one of the best nights of my life. Stay tuned later this week for the third and final NYFW post!
