For those who haven’t read my earlier NYFW posts, here’s a quick recap. On Friday Sept. 11, I went to Nicole Miller. On Saturday Sept. 12, I went to Son Jung Wan’s reprise show thanks to Marist College. On Monday, Sept. 14, I met up with Jamie (again!) for Essie’s Fall Preview event at Seventeen Magazine’s HQ in Hearst Tower. After that, we headed downtown to a networking event courtesy of Rakuten Marketing and Her Campus Blogging Network.
It was so awesome to see Jamie again after we met up in August since we probably won’t meet up again until her winter break in January! I loved entering my third day of NYFW with one of my blogging besties by my side (if only Cathleen could have joined us!)
Jamie met me at Penn Station and from there we were on our way to Hearst Tower for the Essie x Seventeen Event, but we had to make a quick pit stop at Bloomingdales Vanity Bar. For those who didn’t see on Instagram or Snapchat throughout NYFW, Bloomingdales Vanity Bar is a Bloomingdales pop-up with all of your NYFW necessities… for free! Basically, after approaching the bar, a Bloomingdales barista would present a menu and give the choice of two first aid items, one beauty item and as much food as you wanted. I went for hair ties, bobbi pins, Skinny Pop and a Deborah Lippmann nail polish sample.
I think the entire idea behind the Bloomingdales Vanity Bar is genius. It was situated right across from Moynihan Station, where the majority of NYFW were, so it was easy access for all NYFW goers. Also, it was nothing but positive publicity for Bloomingdales. A bar of free stuff, plus a super cute place to hangout, recharge and snap a cute Instagram! Basically every NYFW attendee’s idea of the perfect between-show rest stop. There were a few other features of the Vanity Bar that Jamie and I didn’t have time to try out, including manicures, tarot card readings and an Instagram print out station. Bloomingdales was also giving away a free gift (in lieu of the vanity bar free items) each day, but only via screenshotting their Snapchat. I really hope Bloomingdales does this next year because it was such a fun pit stop and a great way to kick off my day with Jamie.
After our vanity bar fix, we walked to Hearst Tower for the Essie Preview Event with Seventeen. A few weeks later, I am still in shock that I attended an event hosted by one of my favorite magazines and my favorite nail polish brand. The event was on the 44th floor of Hearst Tower and the views of NYC were insanely beautiful. The room buzzed with chatter from other bloggers and vloggers, including Carly, Mandy & Alexandria, as well as Seventeen editors including Beauty Editor Maddy Zollo and Deputy Beauty Editor Marta Topran!
I loved connecting with some new bloggers and I am once again amazed by the energy of the blogging community. Meeting others with the same passions as you never gets old, ever. And being invited to an event at Seventeen Magazine (!!!) and Essie nail polish (!!!)– I am so thankful for the opportunity to attend. The Essie fall collection is to die for. I was lucky enough to take a few colors home, and I think my favorite is “Bell Bottom Blues”.
After the Essie event, Jamie and I headed downtown for another event with Rakuten Marketing Affiliates at Ramscale Studios. We heard about it through Her Campus Blogger Network and Rakuten was so kind to extend invitations to HCBN members. It was a fun night filled with raffles, networking & beautiful views of the city at sunset.
NYFW 2015 was a huge success for me and I am so thankful to have attended the shows and events that I did. Until next season, you can find me following every detail of London, Paris & Milan Fashion Weeks.
